The New York Philharmonic has made Leonard Bernstein's historic New York Philharmonic debut concert available on CD. Broadcast live to a nationwide radio audience on November 14, 1943, the concert opened with Schumann's "Manfred Overture" and continued with Miklos Rozsa's "Theme, Variations and Finale" and Strauss' "Don Quixote." This digitally remastered recording derives from 16-in glass-base acetate discs. Includes a 24-page commemorative booklet with recollections of that historic day from musicians who were on the stage as well as Bernstein's brother, Burton, and the Maestro himself.
