Monuments of Hope
Posted October 26, 2020
We joined the Washington National Opera and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in celebrating World Opera Day on October 24!
This striking short film features mezzo-soprano J'Nai Bridges and bass-baritone Ryan McKinny at the iconic monuments of Washington DC, using their powerful voices to address the divisions—including racial and political—that are at the forefront of our country’s consciousness. In the film, Bridges sings "A Simple Song" from Leonard Bernstein's MASS, which was premiered at the opening concert at the Kennedy Center in 1971.
Through this work, we aim to bring healing to our divisions and point toward hope for the future.
