Spring concert of Oratorio Society of New York to feature "Chichester Psalms" at Carnegie Hall:

Posted April 20, 2015

The Oratorio Society of New York, currently in their 142nd season and 10th with Music Director Kent Tritle, will be performing Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms alongside Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.

The concert will feature: Jennifer Zetlan, soprano; Peter Tantsits, tenor; Takaoki Onishi, baritone; and the Choristers of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.

OSNY's associate conductor, David Rosenmeyer, who is also in his tenth season with the group, will be conducting the Chichester Psalms portion of the program.

"Bernstein and his exuberance, coupled with the playfulness of Carmina Burana, made a great deal of sense to me," Tritle said in an interview with BroadwayWorld.com.  Tritle asked Rosenmeyer to conduct Chichester Psalms, knowing that Bernstein was a personal hero to Rosenmeyer.

"Chichester Psalms" at Carnegie Hall, 7th Avenue at 57th Street, New York, NY; Tuesday, May 5, 2015, 8:00 pm.  Tickets $25.00-90.00.  For tickets and more information, visit: http://www.carnegiehall.org/Calendar/2015/5/5/0800/PM/Oratorio-Society-of-New-York/.
