A White House Cantata

A concert presentation honoring the 100th birthday celebration of master composer Leonard Bernstein. A White House Cantata features 90 minutes of music adapted from his 1976 Broadway musical, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, with lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. The Score is Bernstein at his most exuberant and features songs that embrace the gamut of styles from anthems, blues, drinking songs, Dixieland, jazz, hymns, marches and a cappella barbershop harmonies. The New York Times calls the work “quintessentially American"
